My Favorite North Shore Restaurants

Oahu will always have my heart! It’s the first island I visited with Brian after we graduated college, it’s where we got engaged & spent time with our best friends. It’s truly a different vibe than any other island. It’s more upbeat & has more people in their 20s out & about. I wanted to share my favorite restaurants on the North Shore, I’m even ranking them 😉 I highlight recommend visiting these 5 when you’re on the island!

1. Roy’s Beachhouse

My top favorite, located at Turtle Bay Resort, it was after dinner here, that Brian proposed to me on the beach at sunset. It’s definitely pricey but worth it to visit at least once! Master chef Roy Yamaguchi founded Roy’s Restaurant in 1988 after graduating culinary school in NY & spending time as head chef at La Serene in LA. As expected, the food is phenomenal! This restaurant gets you the best beach & sunset views for lunch & dinner. Although, I recommend dinner 😉 They have comfy romantic dining chairs & tables spaced so you get a little more privacy. Perfect date night spot! I recommend their sparkling rosé & coconut crusted Mahi Mahi!

2. The Sunrise Shack

A little yellow shack located on Sunset Beach (as well as 2 other locations on the island), it’s my favorite place for vegan eats! They have amazing smoothies, açaí bowls, avo toast & the BEST bullet coffee. They also have a Kangen water machine that we’ll stop at to fill up any time 😉 When we’re on Oahu, we stop here to fill up on water, grab some coconut bullet coffee & smoothies before heading to the beach! You can grab some fresh made banana bread, their coffee, merch & even Earthy Andy’s cookbook! The chicken will greet you hoping to snag a bite 😉

3. Banzai Bowls

The number one spot for açaí bowls on the island! You can build your own bowl or go for one of their options on their menu! They use only fresh fruits, fresh juices & house made granola. Everything is dairy free! My favorite is Maui Sunrise with extra mango. So filling & energizing! You’ll usually see Oahu based surfers grabbing a bowl after their morning sesh 😉 They’re insanely good (the bowls!! But I guess the surfers are too ;))

4. Haleiwa Beachhouse

A beach side open air restaurant with the best sunset views! This place serves lunch & dinner & specialty drinks, get the mango mojito! It’s a place we come back to every time we’re on the island, we have so many amazing memories here. We love spending the entire afternoon walking around the Haleiwa shops then stopping for dinner here before heading home, it’s an amazing evening date night spot! I love the grilled Mahi! Their calamari is amazing!

5.) Raised by the Waves
A vegan café for breakfast & lunch & cute merch. Defiantly my favorite coffee on the North Shore. They have the most amazing vegan waffle (Sunrise Waffle) with a housemade coconut whip, housemade almond butter and cacao drizzle, topped with fresh berries! My absolute favorite! They have an Oreo vegan dessert shake that I highly recommend!

Happy travels! Which one would you love to try?!
