Recently I’ve been studying the book of Ephesians. This book was written by Paul around AD 60-61 while he was in prison for sharing God’s Word. Two major themes in this book are understanding our identity in Christ, as well as what living for Christ looks like. I’ve been going through a phase of picking my life apart. It’s hard admitting that, but sometimes I’m really great at being grateful for every bit of my life & others I think about my mistakes, how people have treated me, my past, shame, guilt, etc. Ephesians 1:4-6 is a perfect reminder that we are chosen, loved, & fought for no matter what.
He chose YOU before the Earth was created & before you took your first breathe. He chose you knowing your every flaw & mistake, past & future. There is nothing we could have done to earn this on our own, we are saved by grace that is freely GIVEN to us through Jesus’ sacrifice. You & your life are not an accident. I hope you always stand in awe of what He has done for you! We are who HE says we are, not what the world, our past or mistakes says we are.
He has chosen you to be His son & daughter forever.
