Like my last recipe, I have to thank Pillsbury for this idea! I found this recipe via their website, you can find the original here. As much as I love their recipes, I have a thing for making them a bit healthier! There’s nothing wrong with indulging, but if I can lower the calories, macros & sodium a bit while still feeling like I’m indulging, it’s a win-win for me & Brian! I also love recipes I can have ready in only 30 minutes! It’s a busy time of year for us, I’m working full time again (yay!), Brian is in the beginning of his second year of medical school & we have friends we want to hang out with, church, concerts, travel, holidays, birthdays, etc. I don’t know anyone who has more than 30 minutes to make dinner anyway! I thought this one was perfect to try & it turned out just as good as it sounds! At the end of my recipe, I’ll list the Calories, Macros & sodium content compared to the original recipe by Pillsbury!

Makes 4 servings | 2 slices of bread per serving
1 can Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet
40 low fat turkey pepperoni slices
1 cup reduced fat shredded mozzarella cheese
1.5 tbsp dairy free butter (I use Smart Balance brand)
1 tbsp Fresh grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning
Pizza Sauce of choice (I chose the store’s off brand!)

1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2.) Roll out & press crescent dough on a cookie sheet sprayed with non stick spray (Make sure dough creates a rectangle)
3.) Spread cheese evenly across the dough
4.) Place pepperoni in rows on top of the cheese (I overlapped them a bit)
5.) Fold in the sides of the short end of the dough about 1/2 inch
6.) Fold over the long end of the dough & roll
7.) Melt dairy free butter & stir in parmesan + Italian seasoning
8.) Spread evenly across dough
9.) Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown
10.) Cut bread into 8 equal slices & serve with a side of pizza sauce for dipping!
Bread should look like this when done!
